Description:
A programme designed primarily for groups but in which individuals can participate subject to availability:
The programme initially involves a 5 day hike across the highest peaks of the Iberian Peninsula. The first two days involve 2 full day treks covering the lower - mid range mountains as a form of preparation for the following 3 days.
The 3 subsequent days lead into the high mountains and the 3000m peaks including the summit of the peninsula's highest, the Mulhacen at 3487m. Descent from here leads into the remote yet renowned region of the Alpujarra and its white villages.
The mountain tour then changes to the spectacular coastal scene and Natural Park of "Cabo de Gata" and then inland to the lost ravines of the "Tabernas" desert, setting for many of the old spaghetti western films!
The return trip allows for a stop at the intriguing town of Guadix, home to the famous Cave Houses.
Back in Granada the programme ends with a tour around the so-called 8th Wonder of the World, the Alhambra Palace, city & home to the Moorish Royalty during their several century rule over the country with Granada as its capital.

Transfers to/from Malaga airport, (where necessary).
Various lodgings; Camp Site in Güejar Sierra; free camping in Cueva Secreta; 1 night in mountain refuge; Inn at Trevelez; Camp Site in San José; free camping in the "Tabernas" desert; and 2 nights at the Inn, "Los Tilos", in Granada.

Full board except for the nights spent in Granada where the accommodation is for the room only.
