Winter Sports in SpainInitially, Spain may not conjure up an image of impressive snow covered mountain peaks catering for one of the world's most exclusive winter sports. However, as one of Europe’s most mountainous country's, it is perhaps less surprising to learn that Spain is home to around 33 ski resorts dotted throughout the country. Resorts are found extending all the way from the extreme north western coast across and throughout the Pyrenees, beyond Andorra, down to the region of Teruel (near Barcelona). We are not a large company and operate with a small team of professionals in all areas ranging from Admin to Instructing. Generally speaking, we do not look at recruiting until the Autumn (October time) when we anticipate hearing from our exisiting staff and whether or not they are coming back to join us for the coming season. |
With 20 years of experience living and working in Spain, The Canary Islands and Latin America, we have obtained a status of integration with the local culture on almost an un-matched scale. Over the years, we have been of assistance to foreign visitors relating to property purchases, guided hikes and other adventure activities in Sierra Nevada, orientational trips highlighting areas "off the beaten track" as well countless personal experiences in re-creating his our lives here through buying vehicles, properties, getting married, banking, setting up business etc.etc. We speak fluent Spanish as a result of the years spent living here which is a prime asset in getting things done!
Sierra Essence & the British Ski Center comprise the two components of a small yet functional business who, for many years now, have been assisting visitors with their travel and tuition arrangements to Sierra Nevada, Spain and latterly to the northern Pyrenean resorts of Formigal and Panticosa.
