Dilar Valley

The picturesque village of Dilar is practically unique given the current undergoing development in and around Granada and its more accessible valleys. Hectare upon hectare of fields and meadows stretch around in all directions whilst backing the village are the impressive chain of peaks of Los Galayos de Dilar rising up to the Sierra Nevada peaks. A dirt road leads off from the village taking you easily and quickly into the mouth of the Dilar Valley from which endless trails for hiking and mountain biking lead off.

The river Dilar flows down from the snowy peaks energetically and consistantly through the fertil valley, rich in woodland and vegetation, providing a huge recreational asset for weekenders looking to get out of the city throughout the year.

Currently under development is the Santa Clara golf course, talked about as being one of the prime courses in Europe.
The village is ideally located for exploring other areas with Granada just 10 minutes drive away, Sierra Nevada ski resort village 35 minutes drive away, the Lecrin & Genil valleys about 15 minutes drive away and the coast lying approximately 45 mintues drive away.
