What Does This Consist Of?
Perhaps one of the most authentic and exciting of mountain activity
experiences in existence. Quite simply, this involves the active descent
through a mountain gorge/ravine where usually rivers and streams
flow through.
It is harder to get more into the heart of a mountainous area than via a canyon descent to experience the sheer beauty and ambience held within.
No prior experience is necessary except to say that it can be a full day on your feet, not to mention that very often at the end of a canyon descent there will be a walk back up to your vehicle so a reasonable amount of stamina is required.
Generally it is an activity recommend for children over the age of 10yrs.
Depending on the gorge, typical scenarios include sections that may
be scaled by abseiling, "toboggan" style chutes, jumps into rock pools
and even underground swimming. All in all, it really is a fully interactive
adventure trail whether you are travelling independently or with a
group, the fun is the same.
