We provide unbeatable advice on accommodation options to source appropriate lodgings for our clients on the basis of our own personal experience on the options available rather than purely quoting from a factsheet.

Sierra Nevada Snow Report

The following report is provided courtesy of Cetursa S.A.
For up to the minute information, please call us on: 670 461330 / 646 178406 / 629 540089.
When snow is falling on the road up to the resort, snow chains are obligatory. There are overhead illuminous signs in Granada (particularly just before the tunnel that leads out to the mountain road ascent) which state from which kilometre marker-post chains are required. If snow is falling lower than 2100m then chains (or snow socks) are required for any car which does not have 4-Wheel Drive in order to reach the resort. Often there will also be "Civil Guard" police stopping anyone without chains, snow socks or a 4x4 vehicle. Snow chains and "Socks"can be acquired from most petrol stations around Granada and on the mountain route up to the resort. Along the Granada bypass there are two large car stores that also sell chains - "Tiendas Aurgi" (on the Malaga junction), and "Centers Auto" (on the Armilla Junction). In the resort, supermarkets usually sell chains, but there is often a higher markup in price than down in Granada!
