After a spectacular start to the winter season which effectively guaranteed the whole season ahead, Sierra Nevada will be closing the lifts down for this year as of 3pm this afternoon. The Winter Season of 2016-17 has officially been declared as the most successful campaign in recent years contributed initially by the fantastic snowcover received at the beginning of season, the consistently superior piste maintenance work and a natural influx in ski visitors. With the end of season due to finish next Sunday 30th, the decision to close early has been one of great consideration and due to basic safety concerns with the unusually high temperatures and lack of precipitation for the time of year, the resort management company have assessed the impossibility to maintain the slopes in adequate conditions for another week. We sincerely thank all our clients and anyone else who has benefited from our services this season and wish you all a very happy summer!
These relatively modern builds of 2009/10 offer bright and functional accommodation in a convenient situation within the mid zone. The mid-stop of the Parador chairlift is only about 100 metres away, and this takes you down to the central squares of the lower zone where the main gondolas which take you up to the ski area are located, as well as the majority of shops and restaurants. Those skiers of lower-intermediate level or above (not complete beginners), also have the option of using the nearby "Maribel" piste which allows you to ski down to the gondolas and central squares. At the end of the day´s skiing, those competent enough to ski blue runs will also be able to ski back without the need to take the chairlift up to the accommodation.
These studios offer bright lodgings, simplistic with modern furnishings, a small kitchenette and sleeping for up to four people. The entrance hallway typically homes a bunk bed which can be closed off from the main living area, thereby giving an element of privacy. A sofa-bed in the living area provides the sleeping place for two more people. The shower-room leads off from the entrance hallway.
In the vicinity is a small supermarket (just up the road from the building) and, a little lower down the main road, is a good handful of restaurants. Carry on down a little further to reach the main disco-bars - they are far enough away so as not to cause a disturbance but are easy enough to get to and from without a long walk.
We regret that the proprietor does not accept groups of youths under 23yrs of age.
